2 out of 3

Well, we got the report back. One of the tumors was benign. The smaller one was a stage 1 but since it was removed it shouldn’t give him anymore problems. The huge one, the reason we took him in, turned out to be stage 3. The vet wants us to keep him on Prednisone because the long term effects aren’t as important as the short term ones. At this point we are trying to keep him as comfortable as possible. He is still very alert, eating well, and not having trouble going to the bathroom.

We are going to measure him tomorrow for a support suit. Has anyone tried them?

Thanks for the support!!! I will post pictures tomorrow as well!

  1. Major has a support suit and it’s been a life saver! Especially now that the lung tumors have taken his stamina. I can carry him like a duffle bag with the handles over a shoulder. I don’t know if I could carry his 72 lbs nearly as far without it.

  2. Thanks, I think it will be a tremendous help. The sling that I have been using digs into his sides and he cringes when he sees it. He weights 80 pounds so I need help picking him up so it doesn’t kill my back.

  3. We are happy to hear Deebo is in good Spirits, and presume you’re talking about AST’s new and inmproved Get A Grip harness. We’ve never had any returns of the Get A Grip nor received any negative feedback.

While we recommend the Ruff Wear harness for most dogs, the Get A Grip is beneficial for larger and/or less mobile dogs requiring more support.

More details can be found in Wyatt’s demo video. The AST website includes various Get A Grip customer testimonials. Just remember to purchase from the Tripawds Gear blog to help support this community. Thanks!

  4. I ordered the support suit instead of the harness. It wasn’t availible on the tripawds website but I asked them to still give a comission and they did. He isn’t crazy about it yet but it is so much easier for me. I’m sure once he is used to it he will love it to.

  5. Deebo and Mom, welcome to the club, buddy. We’re a pretty exclusive bunch here. We sincerely hope you start to feel better. Just stay pawsitive, and we know you will kick that old “big c” in the butt.
